All Aboard Northwest

All Aboard Northwest thanks everyone for your support. With your help, we have created a coalition of rail advocates in the Greater Northwest. We have conducted outreach throughout the region, including Train Treks and rail summits, and we have generated considerable publicity for our cause. Unfortunately, funding for a Federal regional rail working group or commission did not materialize.

Nevertheless, our partners at the regional organizations are still making great headway in improving the region’s passenger rail system.

As a result, the board of All Aboard Northwest agrees that AANW is no longer needed. We have voted to disband the organization, but we will continue to work together toward advocating for a better passenger rail system in our region. This will allow us to be nimble and effective without the administrative burdens of being a formal organization.

  All Aboard Northwest advocates for the needs of rail passengers, especially on a regional scale over state lines, and coordinates with infrastructure and transportation interests to strengthen relationships between existing groups to bring economic, environmental, and equity benefits to our citizens. AANW believes that a comprehensive, long-distance, passenger and freight rail network, with seamless connections to other modes of transportation throughout the Greater Northwest will create significant benefits to the region’s economy, environment and equity.
